Yesterday, Catherine attended a national one-day policy conference to discuss Human Trafficking and the UK's strategy towards this gross violation of human rights.

Catherine has campaigned strongly for this issue to rise in the political agenda and spoken many times about the work she would continue to do to help stamp out this modern-day slave trade if elected to the European parliament. The event was well attended with a series of interesting speakers and provocative discussions.

Stating that she found the event "highly encouraging", Catherine also wishes to ensure that the provisions set in place to help the victims of human trafficking are enforced and improved in the future. This remains a top priority for Catherine.
